I'm finally pulling the trigger on paint protection film for my new daily driver and honestly, the number of options available here is doing my head in. I've narrowed it down to the big three that everyone talks about – XPEL, SunTek, and STEK – but I'm really struggling to figure out if the extra cost for something like XPEL Ultimate Plus is actually justified. I've seen a few comparisons online and it seems like all three use genuine aliphatic TPU, which is a must in our heat because the cheap stuff yellows within a year. I'm leaning towards the idea of getting a hydrophobic topcoat included standard to help with water spots and dust, which makes STEK DYNOshield and SunTek Reaction sound pretty appealing since they have that built-in, whereas with XPEL you need to step up to the Fusion variant for that feature. A full body wrap on a mid-size SUV seems to be landing anywhere from about AED 9,000 up to over 22,000 depending on the brand and installer, so the price difference between STEK and XPEL can be a few thousand dirhams. Has anyone here actually lived with one of these for a couple of summers and can tell me if one ages significantly better than the others in terms of clarity and edge lifting? I've seen a few listings for Top-rated paint protection films available in the UAE market, but I'd rather hear from actual owners about their experience with the films and the installation quality, because I'm starting to think the guy applying it matters more than the brand name on the box. Any honest feedback would be a massive help before I hand over a chunk of cash.
